The former Rewind Bar and Auction House unit is for rent in New Street, Ashford

To let signs have been put up in a downtown Ashford unit previously used by a retro-themed bar after it announced its move.

Rewind Bar, which opened on New Street in July 2020, has filled the auction house’s former site after a massive revamp.

But earlier this month, bosses announced the bar would be closing as staff prepare to move the 70s, 80s and 90s-themed decor to a new location that has yet to be revealed.

In a statement on Facebook, he said: “Rewind Bar is moving.

“We are moving, but don’t worry, we are staying in Ashford.

“We will take the decor, the staff and especially the dance floor with us.

“Watch this space for clues to our new location.

“Thank you for all the love and I hope you will continue to support us.”

An 80s-themed launch party is planned when the new bar is ready, with bosses planning to open the venue in August.

The club’s former home on New Street, next to the Wells Clinic and Super Pizza, has a history as a drinking establishment.

Prior to Rewind Bar, Auction House whose license was revoked in 2017 after a series of glass attacks, the business reopened in May 2018 after renovations.

The bar was later renamed Lot 7, but closed after a year.

This was followed by another hopeful, who restored the auction house’s name and heavily renovated and refurbished the building and garden, but the site subsequently closed.

The lease is now available for £25,000 a year with Chartered Surveyors Stafford Perkins.
