Record year end for Auction House London

The auctioneers, Auction House London, have announced that they have sold their largest number of properties in a single auction this month on Wednesday, December 8 – its last sale of 2021.

Andrew Binstock, auctioneer and director of Auction House London, says: “It was an epic sale and our strongest auction since the start of the pandemic. There have been quick and furious auctions from many buyers on a number of lots by people who have truly embraced live sales. This style of selling has revolutionized the way we conduct our auctions and I cannot see a return to a floor-only auction model.

Any lot with the potential to add value always ignites the imagination of buyers, and this property in Nightingale Lane, Hornsey was just one example where a house with possible building land on one side fell into place. sold well above its reserve and guide price of £ 475,000. The livestream hammer fell to £ 666,000.

This terrace at the end of Cavendish Road in Edmonton, north London, also ticked the boxes for buyers looking for potential. No planning is in place, but the property is conveniently located close to the open space of Kenninghall and the new Meridian Water station. The guidebook cost £ 200,000 before being sold for almost double at £ 391,500.

André concludes: “We started ahead of the curve by launching our live sales as soon as we could, once in the first foreclosure of 2020. It was a gamble that paid off and our sales just got stronger.

“2022 is shaping up to be an exciting year for people wishing to buy and sell at auction. Auction House London is now accepting entries for its next live auction which will take place on Wednesday February 9, 2022. “
