Jason Holder on RCB Radar, check why?

IPL Auction 2022 LIVE – RCB at IPL Auction: A report by the national Press Trust of India (PTI) has claimed that Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have their eyes on former West Indies captain Jason Holder. According to the report, RCB is very keen to buy Holder from IPL Auction. The source quoted by the report claimed that Virat Kohli’s team even budgeted 12 Crore to buy Holder at auction: Follow IPL 2022 LIVE updates and IPL Auction LIVE updates with InsideSport.IN

A source close to the franchise told PTI on condition of anonymity. “For Holder, they have reserved Rs 12 crore and another Rs 8 crore for Rayudu and Rs 7 crore for Parag. If they spend around Rs 27 crore on these players, they would still be left with Rs 28 crore.

RCB at IPL Auction – Holder on RCB Radar: If sources familiar with RCB’s bidding strategy are to be believed, the franchise which has Virat Kohli, Glenn Maxwell and Mohammed Siraj in its ranks as retained players, is likely to bid up to Rs 12 crore due to his multiple skills, which is a rarity in this format.

It is understood that RCB, which has Rs 57 crore in its auction purse, is interested in three players including Holder, former CSK striker Ambati Rayudu and young ex-Rajasthan Royals turk Riyan Parag.

“For Holder, they have reserved Rs 12 crore and another Rs 8 crore for Rayudu and Rs 7 crore for Parag. If they spend around Rs 27 crore on these players, they would still be left with Rs 28 crore.

“The core with Kohli, Maxwell, Siraj, Holder, Rayudu and Parag will be defined. Hopefully they can get two of the favorite three,” the source said.

Why is RCB interested in IPL Auction? So why is RCB all of a sudden interested in Holder? While auction dynamics cannot be predicted, Holder’s emergence as a powerful IPL auction star has occurred, often the case with versatile players where the market determines value.

“Ben Stokes is not available, Hardik Pandya and Marcus Stoinis are taken. Mitchell Marsh, you never know if he can survive a full IPL with his injury prone career, Holder has been phenomenal if you look at his record. RCB will like to go all the way, as others will also participate”,

RCB at IPL auction – RCB to target incumbent, Rayudu? In Rayudu’s case, his contribution to CSK’s success has been immense and Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s reliance on proven performers could mean the defending champions will do their bit to get Rayudu back.

He enlisted as a keeper-beater for this auction and hence his multidimensional skills along with his experience make him a worthy contender for a lot of money.

Parag had a lackluster 2021 IPL after a strong edition in 2020. He’s a big hitter who also offers a bowling option with his tight offbreaks, making him a viable proposition.

The RCB are also eyeing a potential captaincy candidate after Virat Kohli left the post last season. Whether they buy someone like Shreyas Iyer or get Kohli to do it for one more season is the question.

Speaking on Star Sports, former pacer Ajit Agarkar said: “If Virat Kohli can take over the captaincy and if he is happy to do it and if he has the energy to do it, I think that will be the easiest solution for them.

“At the end of the day, we’ve seen RCB over the years, they haven’t invested enough money to build a proper 12, 13 or 14-man squad with enough depth.

“It’s always been dependent on the top three, not enough mid-level players and if you don’t have the money you can’t do it again. So if you break the bank for a player, it doesn’t matter how badly he is good, he will win you matches but will never win you competitions.
