The real-world driving environment called for its first new 2023 Acura Integra.
Someone was unfortunately going to destroy the new Integra sooner or later, and a month after the new 2023 Acura Integra went on sale, that day has arrived. The Columbus Ohio branch of Insurance Auto Auction recently listed a wrecked and burnt-out 2023 Acura Integra A-Spec with the Tech package on its main website, with the Integra set to go up for auction in the coming days.
The auction list is linked here and below are most of the photos from said listing.
The rear license plate frame reads Lindsay Acura, an Acura dealership (conveniently) in Columbus, OH.
This Integra trim level MSRP was $35,800, which after the mandatory extras, that markup, fees and taxes, means someone easily financed north of $40,000.
An anonymous source confirmed to me that this Integra crashed somewhere in Oklahoma.
Although I’m just speculating here and don’t know the official story, if you take a look at the close-up of the engine bay, whatever this Integra owner drove formed the center support, the radiator and where the turbo would be in a half circle.
It’s almost like they hit a pole or a tree.
Obviously something caught fire under the hood (perhaps the turbo with its harsh lines filled with hot oil?) making everything in front of the aptly named firewall a total loss.
The photos do not show this, but listed as secondary damage, it is “interior burns”. As a result, much of the front half of the interior is just a mess of melted plastic, carpeting and leatherette.
It’s worth noting that the driver and rear passenger compartment is mostly intact, which from a safety perspective is nice to see.
Despite its extensive damage, someone will be buy this pile for all spare parts. The entire rear half, most of the glass, the rear axle of its coil-type exhaust, all four wheels, at least two tires, and the remote are all salvageable.
How much do you think this wrecked 2023 Acura Integra will go?
Do you know the real story of what happened?
