A slew of 590 cricketers will go under the hammer in the two-day IPL 2022 Mega Auction which will take place in Bangalore on February 12-13. Of the 590 players who registered for the auction, 228 are capped players, 355 are uncapped players. and 7 belong to associated nations.
Meanwhile, the final list includes 44 new names that were entered into the auction pool at the request of franchises. One of those 44 happens to be England fast bowler Jofra Archer, who the ECB recently said was in the final stages of his recovery from elbow surgery with an expected return to cricket in June.
A few senior cricketers are all set to be auctioned off with teams eager to pick the best of the lot as they seek to build a squad for the future. The highest reserve price is INR 2 crore and no less than 48 players have chosen to place themselves in this bracket.
There are 20 players in the auction list with a reserve price of INR 1.5 crore while 34 players are in the cricketer list with a reserve price of INR 1 crore.
IPL has always been a platform to showcase talent on the biggest platform and make a name for yourself. So, a few U-19 stars including Yash Dhull, Vicky Ostwal, Rajvardhan Hangargekar will be up for grabs at the IPL 2022 mega auction.
